About Us
Paul and Donna Adair opened Donna’s Hallmark Shop in 1985. While Paul continued to work in the grocery business, Donna, Michelle (their daughter), and Linda (Donna’s sister) worked at the store. As the business has grown, we have added employees and enjoyed bringing other people into our family business. We genuinely feel that God has blessed our company as we make decisions based on our family values.
In the early days, we were equally focused on cards, gifts, and collectibles. As the business grew, what we loved was getting to know our customers and becoming a small part of their lives. We realize that we have been able to help them celebrate so many things: pregnancies, weddings, recitals, achievements, and more. We also recognize that we have been able to help people as they encourage and support others during difficult times, such as chronic illness, miscarriages, deaths, parenting, divorce, and many other struggles that life brings. This is the part that we enjoy most. We have come to know many of our customers as friends. We enjoy hearing about their families, celebrating the good times, and sharing sadness during the difficult times. We have tried to find products to carry in our store that encourage others, celebrate family traditions, and help people express emotions in their gift-giving.
We particularly love the Christmas season and becoming part of many family traditions. It is exciting to see families coming back to pick their Hallmark Keepsake ornaments that represent something special for them. We are now beginning to see customers that came as children with their parents bring their own children in to carry on their family traditions. We look forward to being a small part of their holidays.
Donna is retired, but still active behind the scenes. Michelle, and her daughter, Kristen, now run the store. We are looking forward to the future and many more years of marking life’s occasions with our customers. We are committed to continuing to find cards and gifts that help our customers to spread love, kindness, encouragement, and cheer.
We feel blessed to have been able to share life with our community for over three decades. Our customers have supported us during our family’s good times: graduations, weddings, pregnancies, and so much more. We are also grateful for their support during our family struggles: illness, Paul’s battle with cancer, Linda’s struggle with cancer, death, and other personal journeys. During those times, we were committed to keeping our business running, but some days it was hard to do it without a heavy heart.
